Spokane County Library District Executive Director Nancy Ledeboer will be retiring after five years with the district on Sept. 1, 2017.
The library district is conducting a search for Ledeboer’s successor and has narrowed the field of four candidates.
Ledeboer became the director of the library district in March of 2012, bringing a wealth of experience from more than 30 years in public libraries. During her tenure, the library district increased community engagement through quality programming and partnerships responsive to the needs of the community.
Ledeboer also opened the district’s newest location, The BookEnd in the Spokane Valley Mall, remodeled the North Spokane Library, and increased open hours of two libraries on the West Plains.
Three finalists for the executive director position have been named:

He has an Executive Master of Business Administration from Sonoma State University, a Master of Library Science from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida.
- Cindy Moore was the County Librarian for Albany County Public Library in Laramie, Wyoming until November 2016.
