Domain Hosting Services (WASP)
Web Application Server Platform - Technical
Information
At our Central Server Location our robust servers are connected
via 350MHz Category 5 cable from its Ethernet card (Intel
EtherExpress 10/100+ NIC) to a port on one of the Cisco 6509
Catalyst Switches. From the Cisco 6509 switch your data is
then transported out of the switch to a Cisco 12012 GSR router.
From the gateway router, your data is subject to the Border
Gateway Protocol (BGP) and OSPF, being transported down the
shortest available path. The possible paths for your data
from our gateway router to the client (destination network)
is through redundant connections with UUNet Technologies,
Sprint Communications, Savvis Communications, Frontier GlobalCenter,
and our long-haul DS-3 circuit to Ameritech's AADS NAP in
Chicago. Your data is then routed out of our network through
one of these providers to the client. With full redundancy
and 80,000 pounds of batteries that gives up to 27 minutes
at 100% load before power switches over to a Diesel generator.
You can rest easy knowing your mission critical presence is
secure.
