Having developed an interest for wine and viticulture as a student in Germany, Henning Knipprath began Knipprath Cellars in Spokane in 1991 with a desire to create a family enterprise. Starting full time operations in 1999, transitioning from his career as a military pilot with the USAF, Henning along with his wife Patricia, his children and mother had already been crafting several vintages of award winning wines and ports.
