S.C.O.P.E. Volunteer of the Year
is awarded to a citizen for his or her outstanding commitment and involvement in providing a safer community for the citizens of Spokane County.
Bonnie Abernethy, SCOPE Coordinator, announces SCOPE Volunteers of the Year at the the Spokane County Sheriff's Awards Ceremony, Feb. 9, 2001.

Jay and Mary Stose serve in the office, Citizens on Patrol and RSVP at University SCOPE. They also worked on special projects such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and open houses. (Pictured: Ann Richey accepting the award.)

Marilyn Cline organized a Blockwatch Program and is responsible for the installation of lighting as a deterrent to crime and has developed a passion for solving neighborhood crimes at Central Valley SCOPE.

David Leander, of Edgecliff SCOPE is responsible for developing the adult patrol program at Pratt Elementary and consluts with other schools using his idea as a model for the district. He also works with the Walk for Success and the annual Spaghetti Feed.
