SCOPE West Valley, the City of Millwood, Washington and the local community in the Spokane Valley celebrated West Valley Days 2001 on a beautiful, brisk Saturday morning, June 2, 2001.

The parade and carnival is the major fundraiser for the West Valley SCOPE station, one of 16 SCOPE stations in Spokane County. The parade highlights elements of the Spokane County Sheriff's Department, the SCOPE citizens program, volunteer organizations, and programs in the local community.

The parade Marshall this year was Bonnie Abernethy, the SCOPE Program Coordinator. Jeannie Batson, the Mayor of Millwood, the Millwood Fire Department, local schools, the Kiwanas with their "Paint-a-Helmet" and "Lend-a-Crib" projects, the Lilac Festival and Lilac Queen and Court, The Civil Air Patrol, businesses such as Old Country Buffet, Modern Kenpo Karate, Tomlinson Black, and business in Millwood, and the local community participated in the parade and carnival. West Valley SCOPE organized the event.

The carnival had prizes, games, Doc the Clown, and lots of good food. The Kiwanas gave out lots of helmets to kids who had fun painting them. A good time was had by all.

The following pages represent a pictoral perspective of the events. See if you can find yourself!
