Mahler’s Fifth

Before the music begins, Music Director James Lowe offers a LIVE LoweDown guide to Mahler’s Fifth Symphony, opening a window into the architecture, emotional world, and hidden connections of this monumental work. Then the symphony itself unfolds as a journey from darkness into blazing light, from a solitary trumpet call to one of the most exhilarating finales in all of symphonic music. Raw, visionary, and ultimately triumphant, Mahler’s Fifth brings the season to a close on the grandest possible scale.
